Homework
Homework/Agenda Book
Homework will be sent home daily in your child’s homework folder. Each day all students will write their homework into their agenda book during the morning work block. Please check your child’s agenda book each night and initial that the homework was seen and completed.
This book will be used as a means of communication as well. I will check that your child’s book has been signed each day. I will also write notes, as necessary, to keep you informed of happenings with your child in the classroom. This note may be as simple as writing that your child had a great day.
Reading Log
Each child will be given a reading log to keep in their homework folder for the week. Students are expected to read at least 20 minutes each night. They are responsible for writing the title of the book they read or are reading (should be a book at their level). They also need to record how long they read. Please initial for each night your child reads. This log will be collected at the end of the week.
Monday Folders
Monday folders will come home each Monday night to be returned on Tuesday. These folders will contain student work that has been completed and graded to keep parents updated on student progress and areas of need. Please sign and return the paper enclosed in your child’s folder each Monday showing you have received and see all of the papers that have been sent!
Weekly Friday Reports
Please look for a Weekly Friday Report at the end of each week. This report will give parents a glimpse of their child’s classroom behavior and work complete for the week, in addition to the daily agenda book. Please review the report with your child. Both parent and child should sign the report and each student is expected to return his or her report on Monday morning.
